King County Public Health has investigated a gastrointestinal illness outbreak associated with the 13 Coins restaurant in SeaTac. Officials examined two reported cases from February 19th.
Although no specific food or drink item was identified as the cause, the illnesses were consistent with symptoms caused by bacterial toxins, according to a press release.
Public Health explained that these toxins are poisons produced by certain bacteria that can multiply rapidly when food is left at room temperature, leading to contamination and illness.
The outbreak appears to be over, and the investigation has been completed, according to King County Public Health.
The current inspection rating for 13 Coins in SeaTac is listed as ‘Okay,’ the press release stated.
